Accessibility Statement
Our commitment, where we actually stand, and how to reach us.
1. Our Commitment
PANCE Agent is built for PA students, and PA students have a wide range of access needs. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA as our working standard.
2. Current Status
PANCE Agent has not yet been audited against WCAG 2.1 AA by an independent third party, and we do not currently publish a Voluntary Product Accessibility Template. We are a small team and we would rather tell you where we stand than imply a certification we do not hold.
What we have built toward deliberately:
- Semantic headings and landmarks so screen readers can navigate page structure.
- Keyboard access for interactive controls, including visible focus states.
- Labelled form fields, with errors described in text rather than by color alone.
- Light and dark themes, with text contrast as a design requirement in both.
- Layouts that reflow to phone width without horizontal scrolling.
- Respect for the operating system’s reduced-motion preference.
Known areas we are still working on:
- The mastery heatmap conveys performance partly through color. Tier labels and numeric scores are available on each tile, but the color coding itself is not a sufficient sole indicator and we intend to strengthen it.
- Screen reader announcements during streamed tutor responses are not yet tuned.
- The screenshot carousel on our homepage advances on its own and has no pause button. It stops advancing when your device is set to reduce motion, and you can move between slides by selecting either side of the image.
- No formal audit has been performed, so unknown issues almost certainly remain.
3. Reporting a Barrier
If any part of PANCE Agent is difficult or impossible for you to use, tell us and we will treat it as a real defect, not a suggestion. Email questions@panceagent.com with the subject line “Accessibility”. Describing the page, what you were trying to do, and any assistive technology you use helps us reproduce it quickly.
We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within five business days.
4. Programs and Accommodations
If your program provides accommodations to a student who uses PANCE Agent and needs something specific from us to support them, contact us directly.
